Welcome to the Aru Shah and the End of Time Virtual Scavenger Hunt
Embark on an exciting adventure through the realms of literature and imagination as you follow in the footsteps of Aru Shah, the courageous protagonist of Roshani Chokshi's captivating book. Just like Aru and her sister Mini, you'll need to find the three elusive keys to open the Door of Death (or, y'know, win a prize... same thing, right?). We don't have a mehndi map for you, but we do have riddles. Find the keys hidden on local businesses' websites to defeat the challenges that lie ahead.
Instructions:
Read the riddles carefully: Each riddle contains clues that will lead you to a specific item hidden on a Durham business's website. The challenge is for you to figure out the businesses based on the clues in the riddles.
Solve the riddles: Use your critical thinking skills, the knowledge from the book, and your familiarity of Durham to decipher the riddles and identify which local business is hiding each item.
Find the items: Once you locate an item on a website, take note of it or capture a screenshot to keep track of your progress.
Complete all three challenges: Find the three items - a Sprig of Youth, a Bite of Adulthood, and a Sip of Old Age - by successfully unraveling the riddles and exploring the websites. Once you have found all three items, send an email with the correct answers and a screenshot of each key to studentleaders@durhambookclub.org. Prizes will be distributed in August!
Enjoy the journey: Let your imagination soar as you dive into the world of Aru Shah and embark on this virtual scavenger hunt filled with literary delights.
Remember, this scavenger hunt is not only a test of your detective skills but also an opportunity to have fun while exploring the themes and adventures of Aru Shah and the End of Time. Good luck, and may your quest be filled with excitement, discovery, and the triumph of knowledge!
A Sprig of Youth
A kids game to settle and decide
Involving three items, two in the art room and one found outside
Combined with where one goes to get a shave
Combined with where one goes to color one’s grays
For reasons we youth have yet to know
Colorers of their grays yearn
For youth or at least
For their oldness not to show.
To know what you’re looking for
You must do the same.
Youth must be your desire.
You find it in a name
Containing youth’s game.
